Asia Argento and Ashton Whitty
Ashton Blaise Whitty is an American actress born in Berkeley on the 1st October 1995. She is an actress famous by her roles in Choices (2010), The Heart and Other Small Shapes (2006) as well as Chrissie Mayr's Content House
Asia Argento, born in Rome to a family which includes directors and actors, worked in both areas. At the age of nine, Asia Argento made her acting debut in Sergio Cittis Sogni e bisogni. In 1988, she was the lead role in Cristina Comencini's first movie Zoo (1988), as also being a member of Michele Soavi's ensemble for The Church (1989). In 1989, she played Nanni Moretti's (also directed by Michele Soavi) daughter in Red Wood Pigeon. Close Friends (1992), written and directed by Michele Placido was the film that really launched Asia's professional profession. She was able move between roles for young girls to more mature and complicated roles. This movie received a positive review at the Cannes International Film Festival. The Phantom of The Opera is her third film with her father. Trauma and The Stendhal Syndrome were her first two. The Phantom of the Opera marks her third collaboration alongside her dad. The others are Trauma as well as The Stendhal Syndrome. Giuseppe Piccioni's Condannato a Nozze showcased Asia's absorbed style that she exhibited in her acting. In 1994, Asia turned her hand to the art of directing, and produced two film shorts: Prospettive In 1996 she made a documentary of her father, and in 1998, she directed a documentary about the legendary director Abel Ferrara, Abel/Asia (1998) that was awarded an award at the Rome Film Festival. The year 1999 was the year that Asia began her film-directing career with Scarlet Diva (2000), where she acted as the lead actress as well as the writer of the screenplay. In May 2000, the movie premiered in Italy as well as around the world. It was awarded a special award by the Williamsburg Festival of Film in Brooklyn. Anna Lou, her first child was born in the year 2001. She had directed several music videos. In 2002 Asia appeared as a character in The Red Siren with Jean Marc Barr, and Rob Cohen's Action thrille directed with Vin Diesel. Asia is also the author of a number of short stories which have been published in some of the most prestigious magazines.
